Nice to see there is curious people wanting to know more about us.. Well, where to start!.. Raglan Kayak & Eco Adventure is about …living the dream; and the passion.. It’s about fun times working and achieving what really makes us happy! The ocean ,the outdoors, and the people. This is what drives us!.. We’ve created these Adventures to share our passion with the children and the adults too. It’s really simply because we love it! Hanging out in the sunshine; in nature, on the ocean..to us life doesn’t get any better then that.

The professional side ..
We understand it’s good to know what sort of characters are taking you, your work mates; the whole family….or the entire school out on the water! Be at peace; we’re onto it! We’ve got all that safety equipment down,.that’s our job!. Safety management plan, RAMS forms and knowledgeable well trained guides is the base of all that we do.. We’ve been offering safe and fun excursion/ school EOTC and group outings for over half a decade already! And; now is not the time to be too humble; so we’ll say it: We’re professional; personal and on to it!;

So rest assure, we teach you what YOU need to know for your own safety; and we take care of the rest! You’re here to have fun hey!

Stephen Reid Owner-Operator

 Kayaking since age 14, Stephen has gone from whitewater river running ;to sea kayaking atolls in the Caribbean. His passion for the ocean saw him through a Diploma in marine studies which also gained him a Padi/Naui Open water scuba instructor, a swimming teacher certificate,
and even a marine mammal medic certificate..( oh nice one Steve !) Steve has been hands-on running this business for the past 7 years and is, well lets face it; irreplaceable!
His education has taken him around the world for some life experiences; sea kayaking,
teaching scuba diving and coordinating marine orientation for about 10 years.
Water..water and more water background!. .
He is the bubbly guy that you’ll enjoy having around .
With Stephen, you ‘re in good hands going out on the water; that’s for sure!!

Candide Reid Owner-Operator

Her background is all about enjoyment of life..

Her years of travels through the world taught her the importance of enjoying what you do;
to be true to your self,respect the land and all it’s people! Good company, tasty food and great coffees on tour is her department.. (it’s the little extras that makes the difference!)
She is the office lady/driver/organizer;  the women behind the scene; making sure things always run smoothly…
Taking care of the business side of things, Candide is the lady with a funny accent that will answer your calls with big smiles!

The Team

Raglan Kayak is a family business. It’s Stephen and Candide who create and run the excursions (Tours, Rentals, School and Youth Programms) but now with the amazing help of fun knowledgeable guides too.. Thank goodness for their great participation! But lets face it.. we’re way too happy at doing this not to get involved! (their nice pictures are coming soon!!, sorry) All that goes without saying a big UP and thank you to Mother Nature, she is the biggest player in the team… She is the one who determines how most days go..or don’t.. Much respect! X

Why Raglan?
Because it’s a Stunning, Peaceful and Funky little village by the sea. The black sand ( empty) beaches..rolling hills…the powerful history and not to forget the 100 km of harbour coastline to discover… Nice arty cafes; a good music scene and great people! In Raglan ( Whaingaroa ) feels like time stops making room for enjoyment of..life!

After years of travels; this is the most magical spot we’ve ever found.
